Shortly before Martin Stone’s death in 2016, he agreed to the release of REAL SHARP –the two CD Chilli Willi anthology. The album comprised material from various sources but importantly, John Coleman graciously gave his permission for the use of Kings Of The Robot Rhythm.
The album had hitherto never been reissued onits own and although all of the tracks appear on REAL SHARP. It’s now available for the first time in digital format. This early recording by the duo of Phil “Snakefinger” Lithman and Martin Stone was elaborately presented on vinyl with artwork by the incomparable Barney Bubbles, when it was released in 1972. The couple were ably assisted on some of the songs by the Brinsley Schwartz rhythm section of Nick Lowe, Bob Andrews and Billy Rankin.
